Layering Crocheted Boho Necklaces

As much as I love layering my necklaces and constantly advise my customers to layer them, I am so bad about remembering to take pictures of them layered. I admit it’s most likely because I really do not like my necklace bust display thingy so I don’t like how my pictures turn out. I definitely need to update it or figure out something else to hang them on.

So for this post I thought I would go through some of my old pictures and see what layered sets I took pics of. I was surprised to find quite a few…guess I was more ‘on it’ back then lol…I’ll just share a few of my favorites with you..

 

 

 

Most of these have long been sold. But similar can be recreated. The long crocheted necklaces without a pendant..those are bracelet wraps as well as a necklace…usually depending on the size they wrap around your wrist 3 to 5 times. The longer ones can be doubled and worn as a double strand necklace too…so versatile and more for your money!

Pantone Color of the Year for 2017

This years Pantone color of the year I have to say makes my heart sing. Being a Maui girl and having just spent 13 months away from home in a state some would think as very ‘green’ (apart from the gorgeous flowers in spring)..Washington state was too dark and drab for me. Coming home to Maui I am once again surrounded by the ‘right’ color of green. It’s amazing how much color can effect ones emotions. I have nothing against dark forest green..I love it..wear it often..but the tropical bright green and turquoise of this beautiful island is what makes me feel like I can breathe and be inspired.

 InStyle magazine suggests this gorgeous color combo for wearing this years Pantone color of the year “Greenery” I have to admit I totally agree with them..the article says: It’s the color of nature, which means by surrounding yourself with it, you’ll feel one with nature—perfect for those who aren’t really the outdoorsy type.“ and I’ll add..for those of us who are!

 

As a Maui girl this is right up my alley and was an inspiration for this lush tropical bracelet wrap. A super cute 5X wrap that can also be worn as a single or double necklace. Wrap stack and layer with others!

These super cute beach surfer girl Maui cone shell silver hammered bangles sold before I could even get them into my shop..however I wanted to share them because soon you will be seeing more in my shop. I do have some silver hammered hoop earrings that I have made as well and hopefully will get a picture up on the blog soon!

I can’t get enough of these macrame friendship bracelets..they are so fun to mix and match and wear with other bracelets. Love the tassels that hang off the back ..I love to wear about 3 at a time. I make them with all sorts of centers..pearls are a must for the beachy boho girl..but my other faves are faceted gemstones all in a row. Check the site often for more to be added..they go fast so it’s hard to keep up!

And last but not least for this post today is a sneak peek at my wrap bracelets..they come in all sizes..some like this one can be worn as a 3x wrapped bracelet, a 2x wrapped anklet or a single strand necklace. Some have more wraps in them and make the cutest bracelets. They also look amazing worn with others as well as when worn as a necklace layered with others. These are the cutest beachy boho look!

It’s free to make a video that last 1 minute..any longer and you have to pay. They only have a few free types of vids to choose from for free..not sure how much more they have if you pay. They had some good island style background music for me to choose from so that was a plus! I love seeing my creations dance to music together in slide shows lol 😉

Pink Beachy Crocheted Necklace

Super sweet boho beachy girl necklace with pink dyed faceted coral beads and tiny glass sparkling seed beads snuggly crocheted into dark brown non stretch nylon cord. The Pendant is a sterling silver ring with three hand wire wrapped pendants made up of a pink colored Maui found shell chip, a square carved shell with swirl and with a tiny Hill Tribe silver accent bead and the last charm is made up of a pink faceted coral, bali silver daisy spacer and a pink fire polished faceted glass bead.

Beachy Boho on Project Accessory

I absolutely LOVE this new show! I am constantly complaining to my husband that every time he gets into something new be it, racing, quads, deer hunting with guns, deer hunting with a bow..etc..there is a show and a man channel that plays it all day long!  I know we have had some crafting shows over the years..but it seems they have come and gone.  Years ago there was that show Craft Corner Deathmatch where the crafters were challenged to make something cool out of very strange materials. I loved that show! But it didn’t last very long. What I’d really love is a jewelry making show…just one please!! Maybe there is one somewhere in the US but not here in Hawaii.

I was super excited when I saw the previews for Project Accessory!  I Love watching Project Runway…I’m no seamtress..but it’s fun to see what kind of challenges they get and what they come up with and once in a while they make a piece of jewelry to go with an outfit.

Project Accessory is a little more up my alley though. Two eppies have shown..and so far the first episode is my favorite. The contestants were given jeans and a white tshirt and told to dress it up by making 3 accessories..a necklace, a belt and an accessory of their choice. The fun part was it was all about upcycling as the contestants were given a large box and set loose in two storage units full of junk and told to get what they needed out of the junk to make their accessories. Talk about inspiring one to think outside of the box! it was amazing to watch them work and see what they came up with. It makes me realize that there are no rules when it comes to making  jewelry!

But the girl I was most amazed with what she came up with was Nina Cortes. She won and it was well deserved..she actually made her jump rings out of rat cage wire! It also had wood from a japanese parasol and it looks like she may have gotten small beads from a chandelier that a couple of the other designers used.  Her piece was beautiful and wearable.

Both girls blended something beautiful with something a little more rough..I love the mix of the two elements.

Most of all I really hope this show makes it..seems like everytime I get into a show these days it gets canceled..so I’m doing my part to advertise this one..go watch it!! You’ll love it!
